We’re nearing the corner to Halloween, which means most of our children have been in school for at least six weeks. So, how’s it going? Some days waaaaayyyy better than others? Yea, here too.
Although on some days, my older son seems to love remote school, other days he’s deep in Zoom gloom. And there doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason for it. So, how can parents figure out what’s working, what’s not and how to fix it? Senior reporter Catherine Pearson spoke with some experts to get to the bottom of understanding just how much your kid is getting out of remote school this year, and how not to freak out about it (too much).
As always, be safe and stay grounded, friends,

Senior reporter Catherine Pearson wrote two other stories last week about kids and COVID that are worth a read, too. First, if your kid(s) haven’t regressed in some way, shape or form since the pandemic started, are you even a parent? In this piece, Catherine looks at when to let regressions slide, and when to worry (and what to do about it). And in this piece, Catherine looked at kids and trauma. While yes, many of our kids are resilient, other kids have been faced with significant traumatic stress over the past eight months. Here’s what to look for. |
