How’s school going for you and your kid? Laughably insane? Kinda working? Somewhere in that grey middle area? Yeah, us too.
I was talking to a mom friend of mine a few weeks back, and she said her usually outgoing son was clamming up during remote lessons. What’s that about?, she asked. So one of our outstanding reporters, Caroline Bologna, spoke with a variety of experts about why some kids are shy in remote classes and what we as parents can do to help them out. While my older son doesn’t seem fazed by the weirdness of learning through a screen, this article certainly helped me understand what to look for and how to combat it if that changes.
As always, good luck out there, and be safe.

We’re all waiting for an effective COVID-19 vaccine. And for parents and their kids, the wait might be much, much longer. Senior reporter Catherine Pearson reached out to experts to get a sense of just how much longer, and what parents should expect in the interim. It’s not meant to stress you out; instead, it’s meant to give you some semblance of a working timeline. |
