When Smithfield Foods recently shut down a huge meat processing plant after more than 230 employees tested positive for COVID-19, reports began to surface that the shutdown, coupled with panic buying, would result in meat shortages at grocery stores. We talked to experts who said that yes, our meat supply has certainly been affected by the pandemic, but these experts also believe there's no need to panic.
