| No Images? Click here  At HuffPost Parents, we occasionally get the chance to talk to some of the celebrity parents we admire who are also outspoken feminists. When we do interviews with cool celebrities, we always make it a point to ask about how those parents are working and using their resources to raise strong feminist kids.Below, a few of the things we learned about raising little feminists when we got the chance to chat with actresses Zooey Deschanel, Kristin Bell and Busy Philips.Zooey Deschanel:“I think that the main thing is just not standing in their way. My daughter is only two, but she’s so strong and confident. I think it’s not letting those societal kind of pressures and those stereotypes affect them. Mainly I think it’s protecting her confidence, because she was born with it.I come from a family of pretty strong-willed women, and all the women in my husband’s family are amazing. I think we have a pretty good network for strong women, so that’s a start. I think it’s mainly encouraging kids to express themselves and speak out and be confident.”Kristin Bell:“You teach them to be strong by teaching them to be vulnerable. I think the things that have been viewed as women’s weaknesses for hundreds of years are actually our strengths ― our diffusion of conflict, our innate ability for empathy.”Busy Philips:“We try to start with the basics of treating others the way you want to be treated and kindness and what’s an appropriate way to talk to one another what’s an appropriate way to talk about one another. And certainly some messages are going to permeate the culture and they’re going to get them because they’re living in this world. Our job as parents of young women is to counteract that as much as possible with our own messages of empowerment.”
