| | My dad passed away last month after a battle with ALS, and one of the most frustrating parts of his illness was the unsolicited advice from friends and even total strangers. "Go on an anti-inflammatory diet, that'll cure it," someone would say. "He needs to go completely vegan," another would tell our family. And while food is one of the most powerful ways to fuel our bodies with vital nutrients, in the case of many ailments it certainly is not a cure. Christine Byrne wrote a wonderful piece this week explaining that food isn't medicine, and why it can be dangerous to think it is. I highly recommend sharing it if you're ever in my shoes.
