One surprising thing I’ve learned during this pandemic is that my ears are too flimsy to hold the straps of a face mask. The elastic just slides right off! But when my colleague Kristen published easy ways to keep face masks from hurting your ears, I was honestly touched to find that people had been quick to create genius solutions for this sort of thing. These hooks, extenders, buttons and other solutions work for both pain issues and for security and stability. I know it’s a small thing, but it reminds me that on the whole, humans are quick to come up with solutions. Hopefully that happens swiftly on a larger level, too!
