OLYMPIC COMMITTEE BANS POLITICAL GESTURES The International Olympic Committee said competitors in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be barred from making political gestures during the games. “It is important, on both a personal and a global level, that we keep the venues, the Olympic Village and the podium neutral and free from any form of political, religious or ethnic demonstrations,” the committee said. EPA'S SUPERFUND PROGRAM IN SHAMBLES The number of sites on the Environmental Protection Agency's National Priorities List, which require long-term remediation, stands as 1,335 ― up from the 1,322 that then-EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said was “unacceptable” in 2017. WILL HARRY AND MEGHAN ACTUALLY BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT? The financial workings of Her Majesty and Co. are more than a little complex. Their definition of “financially independent” is almost certainly a far cry from the general population’s. The Sussexes will no longer receive money from the Sovereign Grant for their formal office expenses -- but the grant itself, which comes out of the taxpayer's purse, is unlikely to change.
