At some point, you’re bound to lie to your partner. Maybe you tell them you dropped off the dry cleaning, but it’s still sitting in your car. Or that you’re meeting a group of friends for dinner, but neglect to mention that an ex will be there. Maybe it’s something bigger, like an affair. 


Whether it’s a little white lie or a big, destructive one (“misdemeanor lies” vs “felonies,” as couples therapist Becky Whetstone describes them), it’s likely you’re going to need to — or ideally want to — come clean. But how on earth do you do that? We asked experts for their best advice.
