As a consumer, where you spend your money can make a powerful statement, which is why spending money with Black-owned brands is one of the easiest things you can do right now to show support right now.

If you’re a beauty junkie or skin care obsessive, Black-owned beauty brands are a natural place to start spending your dollars. It’s an especially powerful move because the beauty industry has a long history of overlooking women of color. The best sunscreens of the year, according to Consumer Reports

The sun’s not the only thing that’s out these days. Consumer Reports list of the best sunscreens for 2020 is now here, and there are some interesting changes from last year.

‌

This year, Coppertone’s Ultra Guard Sunscreen Lotion SPF 70 received a 94 rating from Consumer Reports, makiing it the top-rated lotion sunscreen of the year. It's only $8 on Amazon.

‌

Interestingly, La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios Melt-In Sunscreen Milk, which has been a Consumer Reports top-rated lotion sunscreen for several years in a row, wasn’t on the list for 2020 sunscreen recommendations.
