Kindness counts.

As we enter another week of important protests around the country and world, it’s vital to not only keep talking about systemic racism with your kids, but to continue to show your kids your beliefs, too.
I love this piece by senior reporter Catherine Pearson about the importance of showing your anti-racism beliefs through actions, whether through showing your honest emotions during these trying times, or by calling out racism in front of your kids. The piece serves a great reminder to do your due diligence and the necessity and power not just of words, but of actions, too.

My older son’s angry outbursts have become more unpredictable since lockdown started, and he seems to lose it over simple things. So I asked a few experts about kids and anger and what we should expect from them right about now, and how to talk them through rough moments. So far, I’ve found their advice tremendously helpful. |
