This week, Claire Mazur, co-founder of the brand Of a Kind and co-author of the upcoming book Work Wife, a book about how female friendships can fuel success in business, shares her running playlist. Take a look below at what Claire had to say about her tunes:“I start every day with a run — partly for fitness, partly because it helps me battle anxiety and depression better than anything else I’ve ever tried. I rely very heavily on a soundtrack to get me through it, and these are the ones that have stayed in the rotation year after year. It contains an eclectic mix of predictable pump-ups and some soaring, slower jams that you wouldn’t think would make you run faster but really get you in that ‘everything is great; I can do anything’ frame of mind.”Got a few tunes that push you through a hard gym session? You oughta knowSteam rooms and saunas can serve as a relaxing self-care tool. But be wary: They also come with some risks. Reporter Fiona Tapp asked if these spas are sanitary and if they pose any health issues. Here’s what you need to know:1. The locations can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Bacteria thrives in warm, moist environments (so basically a steam room is like Disney World for these organisms). Contact with these germs can cause problems like fungal or yeast infections, or even upset stomachs.2. There are ways to reduce your risk. Sit on a towel to avoid the porous, damp wooden benches, which can harbor germs. Make sure to wear sandals as well, and try to pick spas that follow proper cleaning and safety protocols.3. Be mindful of how long you’re spending in the heat. It’s incredibly easy to get dehydrated or overheated if you’re not careful. Experts recommend starting with a 10-minute session and make sure you drink tons of fluids.Check out what else experts had to say about steam rooms and saunas here.Crushing on this 'GramWant more wellness?
