Senate Democrats must hold strong (and peel off one Republican) to stop Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from holding a pre-midterm vote to confirm another Trump Supreme Court nominee following Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement announcement. Should Trump get his pick, a new conservative justice is likely to have an impact on reproductive rights for decades, with CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin predicting that abortion will be illegal in 20 states within 18 months. Gun control will also be hit, while LGBTQ rights — including the right to marry — face devastation.
