No Images? Click here You probably saw a few headlines about Mister Rogers over the weekend, as a documentary about him was released on Friday. I’ve been thinking a lot about the TV icon and the little things we can adopt from him for daily use in our own lives, many years after his beloved show went off the air.If you’re on social media, you likely see his quote about “looking for the helpers” resurface after horrific tragedies, from Sandy Hook to Parkland. As Mister Rogers said, “When I was a boy, and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”Personally, I will never stop being optimistic -- having kids is an optimistic act in itself, after all -- and like so many people, that quote sticks with me in moments both big and small.
