Click here Barry Jenkins’ first film since winning an Oscar in 2016, “If Beale Street Could Talk,” has a new trailer and a new promotional campaign after the film premiered to glittering reviews and Academy Award buzz at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.Judging from the new trailer released Thursday, the movie looks like it contains the same ravishing beauty and quiet intensity of his 2016 movie “Moonlight,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Based on a James Baldwin novel, “If Beale Street Could Talk” chronicles Tish and Fonny, a young black couple in 1970s Harlem. Tish discovers she is pregnant, but the couple becomes separated when Fonny goes to jail after being falsely accused of rape.
