BIDEN RIDIN' HIGH, BERNIE ON THE BRINK Joe Biden won by a landslide in Mississippi, Missouri, and Michigan, putting on another commanding performance after his decisive wins in last week’s Super Tuesday contests. A coalition of diverse voters swung heavily in his favor over Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, whose campaign struggled to make up the difference with younger Americans and now faces a critical decision whether to continue his campaign. [HuffPost]

U.S. VIRUS CASES HAVE DOUBLED IN 3 DAYS The novel coronavirus has infected more than 115,800 people -- including at least 1,000 in the U.S. -- and killed over 4,200 worldwide, according to CNN's tally. Fewer than 7,000 Americans have been tested for the virus so far. All 60 million residents of Italy are facing travel checks, school closures and bans on public events, and the Bank of England slashed interest rates in an emergency move. President Donald Trump reportedly is considering a payroll tax cut -- an idea that would face bipartisan opposition. [CNN]

REP. MATT GAETZ QUARANTINES HIMSELF IN WALMART LOT Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who was aboard Air Force One with Trump on Monday, picked an interesting place to quarantine himself during a coronavirus scare: a Walmart parking lot. The right-winger announced he was voluntarily isolating himself after learning that he’d come in contact at last month’s Conservative Political Action Conference with someone who later tested positive for the coronavirus. [HuffPost]

WEINSTEIN SAID JENNIFER ANISTON 'SHOULD BE KILLED' Harvey Weinstein once made threatening comments about Jennifer Aniston when he was asked if he had sexually assaulted her, newly unsealed court documents reveal. Weinstein wrote to his then-representative Sallie Hofmeister that “Jen Aniston should be killed,” after being forwarded a National Enquirer reporter’s email seeking comment about an untrue allegation that Aniston had accused him of groping her. STOCKS SET FOR ANOTHER ROCKY DAY FOLLOWING NOSEDIVE

World markets slumped again Wednesday, suggesting Wall Street was in for another rocky day. Market watchers say more big swings are likely until the number of infections slows down. [AP]

PRINCE ANDREW 'SHUT THE DOOR' ON EPSTEIN PROBE Britain’s Prince Andrew has reportedly declined to cooperate with a U.S. investigation into possible co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein. “Contrary to Prince Andrew’s very public offer to cooperate with our investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators, an offer that was conveyed via press release, Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said. UTAH PASSES NEW FETAL TISSUE BILL Medical providers in Utah will be required to bury or cremate fetal tissue after an abortion or miscarriage under a bill that passed the state legislature. Reproductive rights groups say the legislation, now on its way to Republican Gov. Gary Herbert’s desk, will make it harder for abortion clinics to operate and will impose additional emotional and financial stresses on their patients. [HuffPost]

PRISONS ARE RIPE FOR CORONAVIRUS. THEY'RE NOT READY As the novel coronavirus has spread across the globe, prisons and jails have consistently been huge problem spots in places where the outbreaks are intense. As with any congregate setting, infectious diseases thrive in correctional facilities. But the difference in jails and prisons is that residents can neither fully self-quarantine nor leave and be fully quarantined elsewhere. [HuffPost]

CONGRESS ASKED TO INVESTIGATE BETSY DEVOS A progressive government watchdog nonprofit group is asking Congress to investigate whether Education Secretary Betsy DeVos had any involvement in her brother’s efforts to spy on a Michigan teachers union, HuffPost has learned. In 2017, DeVos’s brother, Erik Prince, recruited an ex-spy to infiltrate a Michigan office of the American Federation of Teachers, The New York Times reported over the weekend. [HuffPost]

CALIFORNIANS TURN TO RENT STRIKES AND SQUATTING Rent strikes, squatting and public rallies are the new face of the affordable housing crisis in California. It’s no surprise. In Oakland, the median house sale price is $765,350 and median rent is $3,000 a month. There are almost four vacant homes for every one homeless person in Oakland. The state has a homeless population of about 151,000, up 16% in the last year. Meanwhile, U.S. Census Bureau data shows at least 1.1 million vacant homes in California. [HuffPost]
