Pegasus couldn't have acted without govt support
| | | The more details we find about the WhatsApp snooping scandal, the scarier it looks. Huffpost India found that Pegasus, a sophisticated snooping software developed by Israel’s NSO group, could not have been used without knowledge or help from the Narendra Modi government. So far 41 people — politicians, lawyers and activists — seemed to have been the target. A guide to use the software shows how the app promises complete access to a user's phone. The user manual also gives an insight into what the software actually does—and how it’s pitched to governments. Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan told Huffpost India in an interview that he plans to file a PIL in the Supreme Court to seek a probe into the hacking.
