CORONAVIRUS SURGE: OVER 14,000 NEW CASES Health officials in China’s Hubei Province — the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak — reported the largest single-day infection rate to date on Thursday, identifying 14,840 new cases and 242 more deaths. The figures, 10 times the previous day’s reported infections, come as Chinese health officials have expanded how they diagnose those who show symptoms of the virus, called COVID-19. [HuffPost]


SENATE DEMS DEMAND BARR RESIGN OVER STONE CASE Senate Democrats have called on Attorney General William Barr to resign or face impeachment after President Donald Trump appeared to confirm that Barr had intervened in the case against the president’s longtime friend Roger Stone. “Donald Trump is shredding the rule of law in this country,” Sen. 112-YEAR-OLD JAPANESE MAN DECLARED WORLD'S OLDEST Chitetsu Watanabe, at 112 years and 345 days old, has just been declared the oldest living man by Guinness World Records.
