CORONAVIRUS DEATH TOLL PASSES 900 The Wuhan coronavirus has killed 910 people globally, the majority in mainland China, and infected more than 40,000. Chen Qiushi, a citizen journalist who had been posting critical reports from inside of Wuhan, went missing Thursday. Police revealed he was forced into quarantine. A team from the World Health Organization is heading to China to investigate the outbreak. [CNN]


CPAC CHAIR: ROMNEY'S SAFETY WOULD BE 'AT RISK' Conservative Political Action Conference Chair Mark Schlapp warned that he would be “afraid” for the “physical safety” of Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) if he attempts to attend this month’s annual convention. SANDERS WILL SEEK PARTIAL RECANVASS IN IOWA Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign plans to ask for a “partial recanvass” of the results of last week’s botched Iowa caucuses. THAI MALL MASSACRE: POLICE BROUGHT IN GUNMAN'S MOTHER Thailand police revealed they tried to persuade a soldier who had killed 29 people to turn himself in, and brought the gunman's mother in to talk to him. The shooting at a military base and shopping mall in northeast Thailand also left 58 others injured before the gunman was killed by police at around 9 a.m. local time on Sunday. [CNN]

NYPD OFFICERS 'DECLARING WAR' ON MAYOR DE BLASIO A police union made a threatening statement on Twitter to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, saying that members of the New York Police Department are “declaring war” on the mayor after two officers were separately attacked in a span of 12 hours. MAN CARRYING KNIFE OUTSIDE WHITE HOUSE ARRESTED A man carrying a knife was arrested outside the White House after he told a U.S. Secret Service officer that he was there to kill the president. Roger Hedgpeth, 25, was charged with making threats to do bodily harm. [AP]


BILL WELD HUNTS FOR ELUSIVE PRE-TRUMP REPUBLICANS At stops up and down New Hampshire over the weekend, GOP presidential candidate Bill Weld warned Republicans that if they believed in what the party stood for in the decades before Trump won the nomination and then the presidency, they needed to mobilize now to stop him.
