Click here   Move over Captain America and watch out Wonder Woman, here comes Ngozi: a teenage super heroine inspired by Nigeria’s kidnapped Chibok girls who fights evil in Lagos, marking a new chapter in diversity for Marvel Comics. Ngozi is the star of new title “Blessing in Disguise”, the first Marvel story to be set in a real-life African country - Nigeria’s commercial capital - and feature a Nigerian superhero!  It is noteworthy that outcry toward antiracists uniquely harms black people aiming to upend the practice of racism in ways their white ideological counterparts rarely experience.  Kenneka Jenkins, 19, was found dead early Sunday morning in a walk-in freezer at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois. Her mother, Tereasa Martin, told the Chicago Tribune that she last saw her daughter around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, when the girl went out with some friends to a party to celebrate getting a new job. Jenkins reportedly spoke to her sister around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. She went missing a short time later.  Six black women currently hold the title of police chief in North Carolina, marking the first time this has happened in state history. Among them are Raleigh’s Cassandra Deck-Brown, Durham’s C.J. Davis, Morrisville’s Patrice Andrews and Fayetteville’s Gina Hawkins, all of whom spoke to the local station last week about their experiences being women of color in leadership positions within the force. Safety concerns in Chicago have led to a surge in the number of black women receiving a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Since Illinois began issuing these licenses in 2014, the number of black women who obtain a permit has increased each year in Cook County. In 2014, about 800 black women received a permit. So far this year, nearly 1,400 got a concealed carry license Anyone who’s an avid viewer of “Insecure” has probably noticed that even though the main character, played by creator Issa Rae, is a hot mess trying to figure life out, her hair always slays.
