No Images? Click here I’ve just spent the past week and a half straight with my kids, which as many working moms know, feels like A LOT OF TIME. I had a blast with them on vacation: my 2 year old is really starting to string words together and say funny things and my 5 year old is, well, a 5 year old. I think (and seem to spend considerable time in this newsletter writing about) staying patient with my kids. Parenting isn’t easy: between the lack of sleep and the constant needs of multiple people, it’s pure draining bliss. But over vacation I consciously tried to live in the moment, yell less, and enjoy more. It wasn’t always easy, but laughing with your kids is far more fun than being frustrated with them. All this is to say, especially as we get toward the middle of the summer — and therefore the middle of many parents’ patience — I’ve found it helpful to try my damndest to remain calm, cool and collected. Your kids will probably react better, and you’ll need less wine. Consider this your midsummer mindfulness check, fellow parents! Here are some articles that might help you in your quest:
