Click here   By Paul Vale     Tuesday, January 8 NETWORKS CAVE TO TRUMP’S REQUEST All major television networks will air President Donald Trump’s address tonight on his promised border wall live after the White House requested they make space in their prime-time lineups. ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC all confirmed Monday they would carry Trump’s address to the nation on what he calls “the humanitarian and national security crisis at our southern border.” [HuffPost] [Tweet | Share on Facebook] SENATE DEMS PLAYING HARDBALL ON SHUTDOWN A growing number of Democrats are pledging to block all legislation on the Senate floor until Republicans allow a vote on appropriations bills passed by the House last week in a bid to end the shutdown. [HuffPost] ONLY 6 PEOPLE ON WATCHLIST DETAINED The Trump administration has claimed that U.S. border officials detained “nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists” last year at the Mexican border. But figures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection reveal that only six people on a security watchlist were detained over a six-month period. [HuffPost] EX-PRESIDENTS CONFIRM TRUMP LIES All four living former presidents deny telling Trump that they support his long-promised border wall, contradicting the president’s claim that his predecessors “told me that we should have” built the wall earlier. [HuffPost] DEAD MAN IN DEM DONOR’S HOUSE A man in his 50s was found dead at the West Hollywood apartment of Ed Buck, a prominent Democratic donor associated with the death of another man in his home last year. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not yet disclosed the deceased person’s name. [HuffPost] FOX NEWS ANALYST: TRUMP CAN’T USE EMERGENCY POWERS FOR WALL Trump wants to use emergency powers to bypass Congress to build his border wall.
