This pandemic is unquestionably hard for everyone. But as someone who has delivered two children in perfectly “normal” times, I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to give birth during COVID-19.
As a mom herself, senior reporter Catherine Pearson couldn’t imagine what it must be like, either, so she spoke to a woman who recently gave birth in New York City to hear what it was like. It was, in a word, harrowing. I encourage you to read her unreal account and what hospitals are doing about partners and support people in the age of coronavirus.
