Billboard announced on Tuesday that the Bronx-born artist achieved the feat on the Hot 100 chart with G-Easy’s “No Limit” ft. A$AP Rocky and Cardi B at No. 4, “MotorSport” by Migos, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B at No. 7 and her debut single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” at No. 10. The rapper is only the third musical act in history to place her first three charted singles in the Top 10 since the Beatles in 1964 and Ashanti in 2002. Go, Cardi! Essence is reclaiming their time.The magazine has officially parted ways with Time Inc., making it a fully black-owned company for the first time in nearly two decades. Shea Moisture creator Richelieu Dennis established Essence Ventures last year to buy the company Michelle Ebanks will remain the magazine’s president and is set to join the board of directors, the company said in a statement. Members of the executive team, which is made up entirely of black women, are to have an equity stake in business. This is a win for #BlackGirlMagic! ✨
  Clearly someone's been reading our Shondaland dream journal because the collab of a lifetime is happening!The ABC series’ “Scandal” and “How To Get Away With Murder,” both executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, are set to crossover sometime this season, Deadline reports. Rhimes and “HTGAWM” creator Pete Nowalk confirmed the news on social media by revealing an excerpt from the episode’s script that reveals just how Olivia Pope (Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) meet. Actress and activist Yara Shahidi is urging Americans to consider just how interconnected the situation in Iran is to the U.S. experience.Appearing on “The View” on Wednesday, the 17-year-old “Black-ish” star, who is half African-American and half Iranian-American, said she hoped people would see the Iran protests from an empathetic and “humane perspective.” “These movements [are] really connected to our own movements in the past, whether it’s the Black Lives Matter rallies that have been happening or the [2017] Women’s March,” she said. “So I think for me, it’s about showing support for the protesters and making sure people are safe, and understanding that this is part of our larger global community.”
 Nola Darling is coming back!Netflix has renewed “She’s Gotta Have It” for a second season. Spike Lee, who directed the 1986 indie classic, and actress DeWanda Wise, who plays protagonist Nola Darling in the Netflix adaption, both shared the announcement on Monday via Instagram. “There’s going to be a second season of ’She’s Gotta Have it,” Lee, joined by his wife Tonya Lewis Lee, proclaimed in the clip. “Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy New Year!”  The Golden Globes sure missed a golden opportunity when they failed to nominate actress Tiffany Haddish this year — because the woman can give one hell of an acceptance speech, which she did at the at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Wednesday. And she does it while taking sips from a martini and flirting with host Michael B. Jordan.“First, I want to thank God, because without God, my mama and daddy wouldn’t have put their two uglies together and they wouldn’t have made me,” she told the audience, martini in hand. “That was all God right there.
