Click here Wednesday, November 28MANAFORT LAWYER ‘BRIEFED TRUMP ON MUELLER’ One of Paul Manafort’s lawyers regularly briefed President Donald Trump’s legal team about Manafort’s conversations with federal investigators as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The conversations happened after Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, reached a plea deal with Mueller’s team and began cooperating with prosecutors. The “highly unusual” backchannel may have been an effort by Manafort to score a presidential pardon. "Word is friend in embassy plans 2 more dumps," Corsi wrote, referring to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, according to the draft court papers. "One shortly after I'm back. 2nd in Oct. Impact planned to be very damaging." [NBC News]GIULIANI: WE DON’T KNOW IF MANAFORT MET ASSANGE Trump does not know whether his former campaign chairman ever met with Julian Assange before Assange released stolen emails in an effort to help him win the presidency, Rudy Giuliani told HuffPost. The Guardian reported that Manafort had had multiple meetings with Assange dating back to 2013, including one in March 2016 ― just as Manafort effectively took control of Trump’s campaign.
