No Images? Click here Skirting 'tradition'I wrote this one a few weeks ago, but forgot to send to you: There are a bunch of girls at a public elementary school in North Carolina who are fighting simply for the option to wear pants as part of their school uniform. They've sued their school, with the help of their mothers and the ACLU. In court filings, the school insists that it makes girls wear skirts because of, wait for it, "chivalry." Apparently, forcing little girls to wear skirts on the playground and in the cold, and telling them to "sit like a princess" in class helps enforce what the school calls "traditional values." These traditions should've expired a long time ago. You can follow me on Twitter @EmilyRPeck HuffPost is now a part of Oath and a part of Verizon.
