Under Airbnb rules, hosts must disclose if they are actively recording on the property, and are not allowed to use surveillance devices in bedrooms and bathrooms even if they do inform renters that cameras are present. But what about hosts that don't play by the rules?  Hidden cameras can be placed in unassuming objects, and many are very, very small. And unless you really care about a scratch or ding, that's not a big deal: Most product manuals are available online. And often products are listed in "used-like new" condition, which is how I purchased this machine (minus a manual) for $184 last year.
