No Images? Click here Welcome to your weekly dose of black newsLauren London's eulogy for Nipsey Hussle had me at my desk tearing up today, y'all. It was so powerful. So emotional. She was so strong and in an interesting way, a little healing for me. “Grief is the final act of love. My heart hears you, I feel you everywhere," she told a crowd of 21,000 at the Staples Center. "And, until we meet again, the marathon continues.” His funeral was an outpouring of love from his family, friends, and others including Stevie Wonder, Anthony Hamilton, Snoop Dogg and even a special message from Barack Obama. This week, Nipsey was also honored by Congress and a local Councilman has filed a motion to rename the intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw after the rapper. Also this week, police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fires that burned at three historically black churches in Louisiana. The suspect reportedly has ties to white supremacy. Terrorism has a long history of trying to disrupt the black church so this is a story that we'll continue to keep our eyes on. On the lighter side of things, Beyoncé is coming! No, not with an album, but with a documentary. "Homecoming," debuting on Netflix on March 17, is taking an in-depth look at her history-making Coachella performance, a year after she snatched our wigs. Meanwhile Solange has pulled out of this year's festival due to "major production delays," Coachella tweeted. Oh, also Candace Owens is still ashy and wrong, but y'all knew that.
