No Images? Click here I need help this week. Our kids are deep in the not-listening-to-a-damn-thing phase, both the 3 year old and the 6 year old. My husband and I have tried redirecting, separating them, scolding them, yelling at them… the works. And nothing seems to stick.I don’t want them to grow up in a house where they get yelled at (which seems to be the only thing at this point — a quick, snappy yell — that gets their attention), but I also don’t want them to grow up not listening. To that end, I’ve read some books (here’s looking at you How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk) and subscribe to some newsletters (namely one from Robin McManne and Montessorium), but, like everyone else, I need more guidance.I know, I know, a lot of this is a phase, but I need your help. I feel like all weekend all we did was scold or get annoyed. What’s worked for you? Please tell me you have some tricks up your sleeves?!!?
