Last week I was in Älmhult, Sweden — the hometown of IKEA —learning more about what's on IKEA's 2020 roadmap (hint: "robotic" furniture and fabrics made from ocean-bound plastics!), but while I was there I also wanted to know about the finds IKEA experts say make them happy.Caroline Reid is a Sustainability Development Manager for IKEA of Sweden. "It's definitely not an essential, but it's a thing you cut apples with," Reid said. "The joy the kids are getting from that thing. I'm like, why did I not let them buy it before?"Another find that makes Reid happy? "Those free-standing ELVARLI shelving units," she said. Her home layout involves walking through one room to get to the bedroom, so she needed a floor-to-ceiling shelving solution that also looked good. "I said, 'Dear husband, I think this should be a walk-in closet.'" If that's not happiness, I'm not sure what is.In other news, below we've got some of the weekend's best sales worth browsing like Wayfair's massive 72-hour summer sale and some favorite sunscreens that are on sale. This easy bedroom swap gave me better, pain-free sleep Writer Leigh Weingus prides herself on being dedicated yogi with a healthy lifestyle. "I also stretch regularly and get massages once in a while — all the makings of a pain-free life," she wrote for HuffPost. But when she began waking up with a sore neck and shoulders each morning, she knew something had to change. Then she heard about the Leesa Hybrid Pillow. "After reading that you should get a new pillow once every two years — or at least be washing them (which I hadn’t been!) — I realized I was long overdue for a pillow update."The dual-sided pillow has one quilted side and one cooling side, so there's something for every kind of sleeper. "I’m usually a two-pillow kind of girl, but the combination of the pillow’s high-than-IKEA price point and its lofty look convinced me I probably needed just one. That hunch turned out to be right."As it turns out, a good pillow can mean the difference between a good night's sleep or a bad one. "I had no idea that the solution to my pesky problem came down to my pillow, but I’m glad my solution is a lot more affordable than the cost of physical therapy down the road."
