I’ve realized I could either give in to letting this all-consuming sense of dread and anger take over, or I could channel it and use it for good.As a mom of two boys, I’ve come to realize that my job as a parent is probably tougher now because I have sons. My husband and I have a responsibility to make sure our kids turn out differently than all the men who abuse women who are dominating headlines right now.To that end, there’s a quote circling around Instagram that I find compelling. It’s from Kimberly Johnson, a self-proclaimed “vaginapractor,” among other things, and the author of The Fourth Trimester.She wrote a post describing what she thought Brett Kavanaugh SHOULD have said at the hearings last week, and I’m considering it a road map of sorts for how to raise my sons. Be humble, be kind, be considerate and compassionate. Be a human being.I hope this quote helps you in these dark times.I’m going to file this invention under “things I wished existed 6 years ago when my first son was born”: Babylist, a baby registry site, now offers a Bottle Box of five of the most popular baby bottle brands (according to registry and consumer data) on their site.
