Click here Don't Let Them Shut You UpWatching Brett Kavanaugh get sworn in this week and hearing the president call Christine Blasey Ford's story a "hoax" was devastating to those of us who found her testimony powerful and credible. The GOP's defense of Kavanaugh is perhaps the clearest manifestation yet of the backlash against MeToo, and the strong forces gathering to try and shut women up. Literally, these guys want us to STFU and go away: At a Trump rally last night, the crowd even chanted "lock her up" -- about Sen. Dianne Feinstein. They'll say it about any woman who makes them uncomfortable. This is misogyny and patriarchy in action. It's a bummer, but it's not going to work. Women won't be silenced. MeToo is just beginning was the word I got from activists over the past couple of weeks. I wrote a piece about some of this.
