No one is immune to experiencing anxiety — even therapists. This week, reporter Dominique Astorino got a few tips from mental health experts who live with anxiety on how they deal when it comes up. Their advice is worth trying if you live with it, too.May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s honor it by not only checking in with ourselves, but by reaching out to people we care about and asking how they’re doing. You never know what someone is going through, and a simple gesture could go a long way. As I type this, I’m currently pushing my bladder to its limits. I know I’m not the only one who does this, whether it’s due to sheer laziness or a work deadline (or in my case, both). I’d always heard holding in your pee for a long period of time was bad for you. Reporter Jamie Feldman looked into that this week. Got a spare minute? Use it to change your life. Our "A Minute And Change" project will help you become happier, healthier and more productive by doing one thing a little differently. This week’s tip comes from actress Kristen Bell on what she asks herself when something is really bugging her: Cher once told me, ‘If it doesn't matter in 5 years, it doesn't matter.’ I think about this often and find myself consistently applying the rule. If I'm feeling caught up in routine annoyances, I start to consider what I will be thinking about on my deathbed and my entire perspective shifts. It allows me to focus on what is, ultimately, worth remembering. 👋 You may have noticed our website is now www.huffpost.com.
