No Images? Click here Welcome to your weekly dose of black newsWhat's up, y'all?Ja'han here. There was no shortage of news this week so let's get right to it!We started the week with some news we've heard all too often:A new report revealed investigators responsible for the Sandra Bland case chose to suppress critical footage Bland captured with her cellphone while being arrested during a traffic stop in 2016. Bland, who was later found dead in police custody, captured footage of Texas Department of Safety Trooper Brian Encinia threatening to "light her up" while thrusting a stun gun in her face. In light of the suppressed footage, Bland's family have called for her case to be reopened.“It not only shows that [Encinia] lied, but that he really had no business even stopping her, period," said Bland's sister, Shante Needham. Also, this week Ayesha Curry, who is married to NBA star Stephen Curry, responded to internet backlash after discussing the insecurity she feels in her marriage. Speaking with Jada Pinkett Smith for her show, "Red Table Talk," Curry admitted that witnessing women fawn over her husband bothered her. The internet -- ever known for its reasoned criticism -- responded in kind (yeah, right). Curry was widely criticized for her honesty, but despite the noise, her words ultimately gave many women license to express their own insecurities and their solidarity with one another.Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams still hasn't closed the door on a potential 2020 presidential campaign. Despite announcing she won't pursue a Senate seat in next year's election, Abrams answered "yes" when asked whether she's still considering joining the pool of 2020 Democratic candidates. But there's more!
