Are House Democrats running out the clock on impeachment? WASHINGTON ― Despite the evidence of obstruction of justice outlined in the Mueller report, House Democrats are showing very little interest in impeaching President Donald Trump, managing calls to remove him from office with promises for more investigation.Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has repeatedly said Trump is “not worth it” and that impeachment is “too good” for the president ― lines she repeated Thursday during a closed-door meeting with House Democrats. But at this point, the put-downs seem more like a backhanded way of dismissing impeachment than a serious sentiment.Pelosi has absolutely set the tone for Democrats in Congress to continue calling for more oversight instead of running with the evidence already laid out in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report that suggests Trump has committed multiple crimes. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) shot back at President Donald Trump Thursday after he called her “nasty” for grilling Attorney General William Barr during a Senate hearing. Patti Davis, the daughter of former President Ronald Reagan, has torn into Republicans who remain silent about President Donald Trump in a stinging open letter published in The Washington Post.. A panel of three federal judges struck down Ohio’s congressional map on Friday, ruling the districts were so severely drawn to benefit Republicans that they violated the U.S. Constitution. Mayor Pete Buttigieg's 2020 candidacy is already exposing tensions in the LGBTQ community between gay white men, who benefit from the economic and social privileges of being white men, and all the other queer people who don’t. Trump has publicly called on the Department of Justice to open an investigation into his former political opponent Hillary Clinton and also a potential future opponent: former Vice President Joe Biden.Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called out the GOP Thursday for what she described as “the sheer mediocrity of witnesses” it called forth during House committee hearings. 👋You may have noticed our website is now www.huffpost.com.
