In the past two cases, Republican conservatives and allies have won key battles in the lower courts ― only to have the Supreme Court stymie them and leave most of the Affordable Care Act, which is now commonly known as “Obamacare,” standing.But the mere possibility that the two Republicans would invalidate part, let alone all, of the Affordable Care Act is hard to fathom. The consequences of such a ruling would be devastating, and the underlying argument of the lawsuit is, according to a wide array of respectable legal experts, positively bonkers.And yet, here we are. On Wednesday, President Trump scored a crucial victory in a Democratic-backed lawsuit that accuses him of violating anti-corruption provisions of the U.S. Constitution with his Washington hotel.Labor Secretary Alex Acosta defends his handling of Epstein case. The plea deal helped the wealthy financier avoid charges and keep under wraps the details of allegations he had raped or abused dozens of young girls in his Florida mansion. Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting underage girls for prostitution, registered as a sex offender and served 13 months in jail ― much of which he spent on work release.Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) faces two legal challenges over her blocking of people from viewing her Twitter profile, which has more than 4.6 million followers. Democratic former New York state Assemblyman Dov Hikind and GOP congressional candidate Joseph Saladino (aka controversial YouTuber Joey Salads) on Tuesday announced separate lawsuits against Ocasio-Cortez, on the same day the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled that President Donald Trump cannot block critics from viewing his Twitter feed.
