No Images? Click here It's been an interesting week for Bollywood. While Saaho continues to mint money (though it needs to keep minting for a while to recover its astronomical cost), Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore hit theatres yesterday, a film that's relatively smaller in scale and star wattage, compared to his previous outing, Dangal.Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao (a casting coup, no less!) were announced as the leads for the movie adaptation of Arvind Adiga's Booker Prize winning novel, The White Tiger. Netflix is producing the film, to be directed by Ramin Bahrani. Meanwhile, Chopra will be next seen in Shonali Bose's The Sky is Pink, which opens at Toronto this week. From what I hear, Chopra has delivered a knockout performance in the indie, which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zahira Wasim. I bumped into Bose the past week so watch out for an interview with the filmmaker soon.Love this newsletter, hate it? Write to me at @aktalkiesFor a film helmed by the director of Aamir Khan's record-breaking Dangal, the buzz around the Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Chhichhore has been surprisingly muted.A source of mine pointed out that Fox, the studio behind the film, consciously wanted the film to grow 'organically,' through word-of-mouth.While we'll know soon enough if any word actually travels, here's a detailed review of the film, which I quite enjoyed. Though the entire ensemble is in peak form, special mention for Varun 'Sexa' Sharma, who owns the part of a sex-starved guy always dropping zingers.Ever since Kangana Ranaut went on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, and called him the ‘movie mafia’ and ‘flag-bearer of nepotism,’ (LOL) there’s been endless debate on the subject and hilariously enough, about whether nepotism exists in Bollywood or not.Throughout, Bollywood stars have emphasised the ‘struggles’ they go through and how gruelling auditions can be. In many cases, that’s true. But in some cases, it isn’t. Like in the case of Tiger Shroff.Shroff, in a recent interview to GQ let his guard down and basically said what many believe, but few are willing to admit.New to this email?
