Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison for paying $15,000 to change her daughter's SAT score while Crystal Mason, a Black woman from Texas, faces five years for casting a provisional ballot in the 2016 election. Mason spoke out in a statement this week saying, “I don’t wish this for anyone, but a sentence to 14 days for actual serious fraud just shows how unfair my sentence is." She continued, "I’m hopeful the Justices will see that under the law, I shouldn’t have been convicted in the first place." This is America. The Creative Arts Emmys took place this weekend and fans are upset that Beyoncé got snubbed. Her Netflix film, "Homecoming," was nominated for 6 awards but received none. Beyoncé may not have gotten the love she deserved at the Emmys, but we celebrated her this week with HuffPost's 1999 series. It's been 20 years since Destiny's Child released the sophomore album that cemented their sound and helped open a new lane for R&B, "The Writing's On The Wall."
