Click here   By Paul Vale     Wednesday, August 8  DEMS IN SPECIAL ELECTION NAIL-BITTER A special election deep in Trump country is too close to call, with Republican Troy Balderson leading Democrat Danny O’Connor by just 1,700 votes in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District. Even if Balderson wins, the fact the race was so competitive should prompt some concern from the GOP. Of course, President Donald Trump already declared Balderson the winner in a premature early-morning tweet. [HuffPost] LABOR WINS BIG IN MO. Labor groups have won a big victory in Missouri, after voters overturned the state’s new right-to-work law in an embarrassing defeat for the state’s Republican lawmakers. [HuffPost] TLAIB ON TRACK TO BECOME FIRST MUSLIM CONGRESSWOMAN Former Michigan state legislator Rashida Tlaib has won the Democratic primary for a House seat in the state’s 13th Congressional District — and could become one of America’s first Muslim congresswomen. [HuffPost] FERGUSON PROSECUTOR OUSTED IN PRIMARY Voters in St. Louis County have ousted Robert McCulloch, the prosecutor who refused to bring charges in the police shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown, in the Democratic primary. The winner was Wesley Bell, a city council member in Ferguson.
