Click here   By Paul Vale     Thursday, August 2  TRUMP WANTS MUELLER SIT-DOWN President Donald Trump is reportedly pushing his attorneys to allow him to speak with special counsel Robert Mueller. The New York Times says Trump hopes to convince Mueller to end the inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election. According to CNN, Mueller has offered to reduce the number of obstruction-related questions to Trump, however he does want the president to address obstruction in person. [HuffPost] [Tweet | Share on Facebook] GOP SILENT ON TRUMP’S TWEET Republicans played dumb after Trump called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to stop Mueller’s “rigged witch hunt,” The White House also downplayed Trump’s tweet, claiming it was an opinion, not an order. Trump’s flurry of posts were reportedly sent a few hours after the president was briefed on the probe by his lawyers.
