No Images? Click here Last Monday, Beyonce’s September Vogue cover hit the internet. The accompanying story -- written in an as-told-to format -- covered a lot of ground, but it was her commentary on parenting that struck me the deepest. Beyonce, it seems, is right there with us in our struggle to raise kind, compassionate, strong children, both boys and girls. Here’s what she said about raising her daughters:“My mother taught me the importance not just of being seen but of seeing myself. As the mother of two girls, it’s important to me that they see themselves too—in books, films, and on runways. It’s important to me that they see themselves as CEOs, as bosses, and that they know they can write the script for their own lives—that they can speak their minds and they have no ceiling. They don’t have to be a certain type or fit into a specific category. They don’t have to be politically correct, as long as they’re authentic, respectful, compassionate, and empathetic. They can explore any religion, fall in love with any race, and love who they want to love.”And here’s what she said about raising her son:“I want the same things for my son. I want him to know that he can be strong and brave but that he can also be sensitive and kind. I want my son to have a high emotional IQ where he is free to be caring, truthful, and honest. It’s everything a woman wants in a man, and yet we don’t teach it to our boys.”That last line really hit the nail on the head for me. As the mother of two boys -- and as a proud feminist -- I want my sons to grow up to be the type of man I wish we had more of in the world. As their mother, I have the power to shape them. And as often as I see my friends talk about this in our own circles, it’s comforting and inspiring to see a celebrity focus such a big platform on this topic.TL;DR: Queen Bey. Long may she reign.Right on! Right on!

The story -- 7 Secrets Of A Whole Foods Product Manager -- is, plain and simple, crazy informative.More stories from the trenches: HuffPost is now a part of Oath and a part of Verizon.
