John McCain following two days of intense blowback over his petty reaction to the Republican’s death. “Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country,” Trump begrudgingly said in the statement after one of the country’s largest veterans groups blasted his initial lackluster response. The talks were reportedly held before Manafort was convicted last week, however negotiations with the special counsel broke down.
