John McCain following two days of intense blowback over his petty reaction to the Republican’s death. “Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country,” Trump begrudgingly said in the statement after one of the country’s largest veterans groups blasted his initial lackluster response.
