So the wildly (un)anticipated Modi biopic trailer, a film that was made in record time (under three months) dropped this week and it is hilarious, strictly from an ironical point of view.The movie's trailer makes it clear that the film has been made solely to bolster the image of Modi ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. One can take some respite in the fact that only a faded actor desperately clinging on to past glory agreed to front the part of Modi in the biopic which the makers say "is not propaganda." Okay, then.Meanwhile, it's awards season in Bollywood and stars in Mumbai are busy calling up senior journalists to ensure there's a trophy they get to take home. And if they don't? Well, they won't show up. There's always Karan Johar's sprawling Bandra apartment if all they want to do is get drunk with other actors they may or may not like, why go all the wayyy to an awards show?
